APPLES TO APPLES: HIGHLIGHTING THE SEASONAL TREAT

The Tiffin Seneca Farmers Market would like to thank our sustaining partner Sutton Bank for making the Market Possible. Our market offers a delicious variety of fruit and vegetables; from tomatoes, to onions, to kale. Our vendors take pride in selling top quality, farm-fresh produce.

As the crisp morning air of apple season begins to set in, it’s a great time to explore the versatility of apples. At the market this week, our vendors will offer a variety of sweet apples. Available will be Gala, Honeycrisp, Fiji, Macintosh, and Crimson Crisp.

Packed full of fiber, potassium, and vitamin C, you can incorporate apples or highlight their sweetness to many recipes. Fresh-cut apples make a sweet addition to salads. Or, you can bake them into an apple pie, fritter, or dumpling. For a special, savory meal, apples pair well with chicken and pork- which you can also purchase at the market! And apples make a great snack on the go!

We provide an exceptional selection that can check off most, if not all, of your special ingredients in a recipe, or complete your grocery list for the week. If you are looking for quality protein that is produced by local farmers that are dedicated to responsible animal care, the market has a handful that supply a fresh variety of cuts of beef, pork, and chicken. If you are looking for a snack or sweet treat, there is a wide assortment of breads, cookies, pies, and candies that go great with a hot cup of coffee. The vendors at the market that provide these goods guarantee your sweet tooth will be satisfied with their commitment to providing desserts that are not only appealing to the eye, but to the stomach, too!

But the best part about the market is the people. Our community supports one another. We help our customers choose the goods that best suit them at a reasonable cost in a safe, welcoming environment. Our family activities and weekly crafts give children the opportunity to release some extra energy and unleash their creative sides while learning outside of school. You will make new friends with other customers, or vendors, and learn something new yourself. Ever heard of a lion’s mane mushroom? Come on down Saturday and taste new foods, like a pineapple tomatillo!

More support for the market comes from Wendy’s, Clouse Construction, KGS, and Diversified Graphics Inc.
